You will never see someone walking briskly down a sidewalk, quickly sipping on a 30 oz. “to go” cup of coffee, or hastily gnawing on a sandwich behind the wheel of their car in traffic. These things are simply NOT DONE here. You want a coffee? Fine. Sit down and calmly enjoy your coffee like a civilized human being. Want a sandwich? No problem. Pull up a chair and someone will make you a sandwich. It’s not that you can’t get a sandwich to go, you can. It’s possible. But no one actually does it...

Oh, snap! We’ve been so busy working, we totally forgot to share our Summer playlist. And since it did yeoman’s work getting us through the recent long, hot Summer, we need to give it its due.
Enjoy!
Happy 30th Birthday to the Land Rover Discovery!!

Surfing Galicia with Reef
If you surf and you haven’t surfed Spain, you’re missing out. A warm place in every sense of the word, full of vibrant, welcoming people and arrestingly good food, with a pace of life and focus on living that few destinations can match, you really need to come here and experience it for yourself.
A proper Defender or Geländewagen with a cooler and a couple of beach chairs in the back, a longboard and a fish… and that’s all you need. No maps, no stress, and no timetable. Just make your way across the north coast, like these cats did, and surf your way west to Santiago de Compostela. Sometimes the swell will be big, sometimes small, sometimes mushy, and sometimes even flat, but it doesn’t matter. Do what Spaniards do and roll with what comes.
Need a truck? We can build you one. Pick it up, drive it as you wish, and drop it back off so we can ship it home to you.
Heck, we can even loan you a board.
Spring Playlist - 2019
AUTOLOGY MOTORS SPRING PLAYLIST - 2019
The weather is warm here on the Costa Blanca. Our sweaters and boots have all been packed away, their places in Javea superseded by the bright Mediterranean sun and warm Sahara winds. The peace and forgotten nature of a beach town in winter has vanished for another half year, to be replaced by rental cars parked by the beach and waiting lists for tables at our favorite little seaside restaurants. Season is coming. The water is warmer, but the surf is more flat. Zeus giveth, and Zeus taketh away. It is the nature of things.
So we take what comes, forget for a while the elbow room we all enjoy in the off season, and look forward to picnics on the tosca, splashing in the sea with our kids, and enjoying anew the pulse and vibrancy of the Javea nightlife, recently awoken from its long, cold-weather hibernation.
Enjoy the tunes. We are.
Walking on water with Almond Surfboards
Summer is just around the corner, so it’s time for a little walking on water with our friends at Almond Surfboards and their fantastic “Walking On Water” longboard…
Autumn Playlist - 2018
Deep into winter 2019 already, we’re a little tardy publishing our Autumn playlist for 2018, but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been hammering off the walls of our shop for the past four months. It just means we’ve been busy as hell.
Music to drive and explore. Click here to enjoy…
BRANDS WE LOVE: Opinel
“With all the online hoopla about ‘EDC’ this and ‘tactical’ that, it’s important to remember that most of us, even the outdoorsy, Land Rovery types among us, are not getting dressed every morning expecting to have to survive a nuclear attack or scavenge for food in a post-apocalyptic hellscape. We’re just going about our days as usual. But that doesn’t mean we don’t benefit from some everyday gear that is as tough as it is functional…”

August is here, and that means it's time to head north for a bit, escape the crowds along the Costa Blanca, and get in touch with a different part of Spain...
Summer Playlist - 2018
Summer on the Costa Blanca. The heat starts to really settle in. So do the tourists. And the surf goes particularly quiet. Here in the Den of Adventure, which like most of Spain goes without air conditioning, the days feel long and heavy, even as an endless stream of northern Europeans, here for a week or two, file through our doors every day to kick tires and chat about adventure vehicles in whatever language we can get along together in.
The days when we can break away for a spirited drive, a little sliding, or a bonfire on the tosca are few and far between these days. Mostly we just hole up and work, or if it's slow for a few moments, strum the ukulele and hatch grand schemes for the pending autumn.
But that makes the moments of escape even more sweet when they come. And when they do, this is what we have been listening to this summer.
Every season we get more and more people offering suggestions for our next playlists. Some of those suggestions appear here, including "Feels Like Summer," from Hally Solomon in Sarasota, FL and "It's All In My Mind," from Tom Carter of Arlington, VA. So keep them coming.
Mahalo.
