When all you need is a makeover…
You don’t need to buy an Autology Motors vehicle to own an Autology Motors vehicle. No matter how well we take care of our favorite vehicles, they can all need some sprucing up from time to time. Exteriors get tired, interiors worn and saggy, and sometimes even if they still look great we’re simply ready to invest a little love and individualism into our loyal steeds. Mix things up. Express ourselves. That’s where our classic vehicle retrimming and refitting services come in.
From simple leather repairs to complete custom interiors, and from light bodywork to complete color-changes, from new wheels and tires to custom audio installations and more, we’ll lavish the same attention to your vehicle as we do on our own. Our work includes:
- INTERIOR RETRIMMING: We can do it all, and everything is completed here, in house, by hand. Hand cut carpeting, sound deadening panels, seat reupholstery in leather, synthetics, cloth, or any combination of the three. The possibilities are endless, and our design team will work with you to create the perfect finished cockpit. It’s more affordable than you might think. New seat foams if required, wooden steering wheels, new headliners, wood planked cargo areas, and more.
- SOFT TOP CONVERSIONS: Available for Land Rover Series and Defenders only, we can convert your existing hard top to a canvas soft top in a variety of different ways. Defenders can maintain their existing doors, or we can convert to earlier split-style doors for fully-open running when desired. Canvas roofs are readily available in Sand, Black or Khaki Green, or we can hand-make you a soft top here in our shop using a variety of different canvas colors.
- EXTERIOR REPAIR/RETRIM: Maybe your car is a bit banged up, and if so we’ll put it right again, using correct techniques for the best long-term results, and with finished paint in the color of your choosing. But maybe you simply want to reimagine what you have and explore the possibilities of what your vehicle can be. If so, we’ll put our heads together and work with you to create exactly what scratches your itch. Suspension changes, wheels and tires, grilles, paint colors and color combinations you might not have thought of before.
- EUROPEAN COLLECTION AND DELIVERY: You’re always welcome to bring the car to us, but if you’d prefer, we can collect it for you - anywhere in the European Union - bring it here for the work, and return it to you when it’s finished.

A 1970’s Lancia with a complete custom interior in nappa leather, period-correct quilted synthetics, and expressive detailing such as the GTO-style steering wheel and 910-inspired shift knob.
A Defender 90 hardtop after a complete soft-top conversion. Three new “split-style” doors allow fully-open running.
A Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen that arrived green and battered, but left “China Blue” and stunning. Different (backdated) wheels, aftermarket fender extensions, and all the exterior trim attended to.
Neither the original plaid upholstery nor the corduroy detailing were available for the factory Recaro seats on this Opel Manta, but we made it happen. How? It’s a secret. But every detail was put back to original spec.
This Range Rover Classic came to us with saggy, soiled cloth seats. We reimagined it in “English Tan” nappa leather, with cubby box and door panels to compliment.
Even classic Land Rovers can get the vintage racing theme. Top-quality black synthetic upholstery with vintage basket weave centers and brushed aluminum eyelets for a one-of-a-kind look.
We refinished the exterior of this Series III Land Rover 88 in Mercedes-Benz “Brilliant Silver,” and the interior in navy blue nappa leather, vintage style gray loop carpeting bound in leather, and a wood steering wheel..
Soft top conversion, NATO wheels, a respray inside and out in Volkswagen “Sealing Wax Red,” and a full new interior in chocolate leather? That’ll shake things up.
